Fluids and diet to support recovery from sinusitis.
There is no diet that cures sinusitis. Good fluids and nutrition can help thin mucus, support immunity and make you more comfortable. A few people also notice that certain foods trigger nasal symptoms.
Helpful habits
Foods and drinks to limit
Spicy food Hot chillies and spicy soups may thin mucus briefly, though the effect is short, and they can upset acid reflux, which sometimes worsens sinus symptoms.
Reflux Late heavy meals and acid reflux can irritate the throat and nose. Eat dinner early if you are prone to it.
Ayurvedic view (interpretive) Ayurveda suggests warm, light, freshly cooked food, and avoiding cold, heavy, curd-based and sweet foods at night to calm Kapha. This is traditional guidance with limited research support.
Remember Fluids, rest and a balanced diet support recovery. Persistent symptoms need medical review.
