How to lower pre-eclampsia risk with early antenatal care.
Not every case can be prevented, but risk can be reduced and complications avoided with early care.
Before pregnancy
Early in pregnancy
During pregnancy
After delivery
Continue to watch for warning signs for 6 weeks and attend postnatal blood pressure checks.
Ayurvedic view (interpretive)
Traditional pregnancy care (Garbhini paricharya) emphasises rest, wholesome food and calm. These support general wellbeing but do not prevent pre-eclampsia, and herbs should not be used without medical advice.
When to get help
Go to hospital at once for severe headache, vision changes, upper belly pain or a fit. Call 112 or 102.
Remember
Early antenatal care and low-dose aspirin where advised are the best tools to reduce risk.
