Cancer diet guidance: the prevention plate, eating enough during treatment, food safety - no miracle foods.
No diet cures cancer, and no food causes it alone - but what a person eats changes risk before cancer, strength during treatment, and recovery after. The right guidance differs by phase.
Treatment phases flip the usual advice:
Return gradually toward the prevention plate: vegetables and fruits, whole grains, pulses, healthy weight, active days. Appetite and taste return slowly - patience and small wins.
Classical convalescent feeding is the same instinct: easily digested, nourishing foods rebuilding strength in phases (brimhana) without overloading a recovering gut - their pathya for deep tissue disease lists green-gram soup, old rice, pointed gourd and bitter greens, and warns against heavy, channel-clogging food and daytime sleep. During active treatment, the oncologist's dietician leads; the classical kitchen supports.
Prevention: plants, whole grains, no tobacco, healthy weight. During treatment: calories and protein outrank purity - eat enough, stay safe, clear every supplement with the oncologist.
