Medicines for body ache: safe paracetamol dosing, when ibuprofen fits (never in dengue), what to avoid, and which supplements actually treat the cause.
For everyday body ache, a short course of a simple painkiller plus rest is the whole pharmacology. The safety rules matter more than the brand.
Paracetamol is the safest general option for ache with or without fever. The rules that keep it safe:
Ibuprofen helps muscular and inflammatory pain and is fine for short courses in healthy adults, taken after food. Avoid or ask a doctor first if you have acidity or ulcer history, kidney disease, uncontrolled BP, are on blood thinners, or are pregnant. In suspected dengue, avoid ibuprofen and aspirin entirely - they raise bleeding risk; paracetamol only.
Balms, oils and diclofenac-type gels help localized sore muscles and are low-risk for short use on intact skin. Their effect is local and modest - fine for a sore shoulder, irrelevant for whole-body illness ache.
Mahanarayana Taila and Dashamula preparations have a long traditional record for body ache; use licensed brands, topically or under a vaidya's guidance, as comfort care - not as a substitute for investigating persistent pain. Herbo-mineral pills from unverified sources carry real quality risks.
Short, correct-dose, single-ingredient medicine for a self-limiting ache is reasonable. Anything persistent, worsening or unexplained needs a diagnosis, and no pill changes that.
