Treating tiredness means fixing sleep and lifestyle for 2-4 weeks, then testing for medical causes like anemia or thyroid if it persists, and treating what is found.
Step 1: The 2-week lifestyle reset (for ordinary tiredness). Fixed sleep/wake times with 7-9 hours, morning light, daily 20-30 minute walks, regular balanced meals, good hydration, caffeine only before mid-afternoon, and honest reduction of overload. Most lifestyle tiredness lifts substantially within 2-4 weeks of consistent practice. Keep a simple diary - sleep hours, energy level - to see the trend.
Step 2: Check for medical causes if it persists. Tiredness beyond 2-4 weeks despite good habits, or any red flags (pallor, breathlessness, weight loss, chest symptoms, heavy periods, low mood), means a doctor's visit. Typical first tests: hemoglobin, blood sugar, thyroid (TSH), and B12/vitamin D as advised. These cover the common culprits in India.
Step 3: Treat the cause found.
Step 4: Chronic fatigue without a found cause. Disabling fatigue over 3-6 months with normal tests may be chronic fatigue syndrome/ME-CFS - managed with paced activity (not forced exercise), sleep regulation, symptom treatment and supportive care. Pushing harder backfires.
What "cure" honestly means here: tiredness is cured by removing its cause - not by stimulants, tonics or rest alone.
Remember: two weeks of real lifestyle repair, then test, then treat the cause - that sequence cures most tiredness.
Ayurvedic rebuilding (rest, routine, rasayana) maps to Step 1 and supports Steps 3-4. The diagnostic steps belong to medicine.
