Common gas-producing foods
Ways to eat them with less gas
Foods that tend to cause less gas
Fibre
Fibre is healthy. Raise it slowly and drink enough water to avoid constipation.
Lactose and other intolerances
If gas follows milk, try lactose-free milk or curd for a couple of weeks. A doctor or dietitian may suggest a low-FODMAP diet for IBS, usually for a short trial and under guidance.
Ayurvedic view
Ayurveda advises warm, light, freshly cooked meals, avoiding cold and heavy food, and regular timing. This fits modern advice but is a traditional framework.
See a doctor
Persistent gas with weight loss, blood in stool, vomiting or severe pain needs assessment.
