Low-salt, vegetable-rich eating to prevent stroke, plus safe feeding after a stroke, including the crucial swallowing assessment.
Diet plays two roles in stroke: helping prevent a first or repeat stroke, and supporting recovery afterwards. Diet never treats an acute stroke. If someone is having stroke symptoms now, call 112 immediately and give them nothing to eat or drink.
Ayurvedic view (interpretive): Classical texts favor warm, light, freshly cooked food and moderation for vata conditions like pakshaghata. This is an interpretive framework with limited evidence; follow the dietitian's plan first.
Remember: A low-salt, vegetable-rich, whole-grain diet is one of the strongest stroke prevention tools. After a stroke, get a swallowing assessment before feeding, and build meals around protein and gentle textures.
